Looking south on River Road, through the side-arch of Brunel's famous brick railway bridge across the Thames. Iron railings and terrace on the right, with river beyond. The Sounding Arch: the flattest brick bridge ever built. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel to carry the Great Western Railway across the Thames at Maidenhead. (The bridge was later widened to carry four tracks). Boat moored at landing stage.
