At the railway bridge on the A4 Bath RoadPhotograph taken 2002-09-24 |
Arched brick railway bridge across road. The small arch on the left is now fenced off, but in the early days of the Great Western Railway this led to a temporary station on top of the embankment where passengers would alight to cross the Thames before the river bridge was completed. Tree and street-light on left.
